We are hoping he gets accepted into the year round school program at a school out of district. If he does, he will start July 19th. They don't let us know until after June 1st, which i think is stupid since we turned in the paper work at the beginning of April and registration for all schools was at the end of April. We took him to the registration at the school we want him to attend, we'll see. I just hate all the waiting. Here are a few pictures from Tuesday night. I'll post the some videos when Tom gets home tonight.<br /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMs0ZjekT57Fi3PdAy5jocaKXlzAcG1OAdWQPI7XnMVjWqOAwuI4K-oNoCJLFnxArAcd3xSa1vr9gXEypYO6113rjvoNvOupKFQ-ZIfZ4l6rDdOCpEXBAwnCEUT5-8FAYH3OLgXi1xwYw/s400/DSC_0373.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475953825700327202" /><div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpv3qQ_LqzH_-HaNr31eRylAD8eYm4HFtjgdqQS0ePkxhrmfTZ6hbo_SH5cSRnfyXZPOSu9nqZVS9jif17huPCYYLbHwK7OhyphenhyphenqWcVfalb4DM9CdC9YR-5nyJuAkoFGvTYbeUffzaFF4dw/s400/DSC_0391.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475953843434727554" /><div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFXBZfZc3_3IqSKdQt3U70b1lh1h949u29gmSpOhnOp6prx7kfomWJWN4p5cZI0bOWJu0ITNlQA0kLXqhSr9UTzR-1rIangMYARvhaI5mFOoyhSsOti4qCcQYC40MmHbU0yOjBSVJN98w/s400/DSC_0409.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475953855298646050" /></div><div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOZCRg_xPmrMikSMvseqcANtKMKJEStCRZ6YVrDvjrPb8Q3-SeYMNuPKHPGCmxEYp0rjZB1nkpbNK7aJdCb0XRbci3TNeoJhO82gp5XZLub0a8TwgFgzUPu83wbEn0NVt_-ZlVZf1KdAg/s400/DSC_0413.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475954717507931362" /><div style="text-align: center;">Hayley wanted to wear Jonas' hat too</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCDGv1pDFvL9AVBRYy2AyCRaCSUNqTYorA-gLRcFJchfYCSSx9H35va_0R_GzmRIt4pR9p4v_0U_ONWmxL3aYndb1caUA6J2NGRNEfrOb5xxn5SwpZO4BiQgNkPiz_POblUZtaGZ29lHM/s1600/DSC_0411.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCDGv1pDFvL9AVBRYy2AyCRaCSUNqTYorA-gLRcFJchfYCSSx9H35va_0R_GzmRIt4pR9p4v_0U_ONWmxL3aYndb1caUA6J2NGRNEfrOb5xxn5SwpZO4BiQgNkPiz_POblUZtaGZ29lHM/s400/DSC_0411.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475953843992073970" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /></div></div></div>Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-9259878019349313022010-05-16T18:04:00.010-04:002010-05-17T10:59:02.568-04:00are you ready to rumble?<div style="text-align: left;">Tom can officially check a half marathon trail run off his running to do list.</div><div>The trip to the <a href="http://www.uwharrierumble.com/">Uwharrie Rumble</a> wasn't quite as an adventure as the last uhwarrie run thankfully, we got there with a half hour to spare, just as planned!</div><div>It took us a about 5 minutes to hike to the campsite where the race start was. I enjoy trail running spectating more than road running spectating. Sure there is more to do when while waiting during the races that are in towns, but with trail running there is more to see. The kids get to play outside in the dirt and no one gives chastising looks to the mom who is letting her kids play in the dirt. The time in the outdoors is great. It's so much quieter and not nearly as competitive. Runners encourage each other as others pass them. It's all around a friendlier sport.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Back track to saturday..</div><div style="text-align: left;">Saturday, Tom and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. We didn't do too much, which was fine, we know sunday was going to be a very long day so we didn't want to do it over do it.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Tom worked on his wagoneer and thankfully he and our neighbor got the problems in it worked out, so we hope. The big test will be when tom attempts to start it tonight. </div><div style="text-align: left;">They had put in a new alternator but it still wasn't working, at it turns out the 'new' alternator they had picked up was just as bad as the old one. Then they fixed the 2 bad wires, hopefully this will keep the battery from draining and dying every day. They also noticed that it was missing it's choke, meaning no gas was getting to the carborater, so they put in a manual choke last night, and it started right up!</div><div style="text-align: left;">My jeep should be getting it new engine put in next week. Thank the Lord for neighbors that weld! Then if we can get the Chief figured out, we'll be sitting pretty.</div><div style="text-align: left;">For those that don't know, the Chief is our newly acquired '79 cherokee chief. Tom got it so that he could have a car that actually drove while they were figuring out the wagoneer's electrical problems, but now Chief is having problems. </div><div style="text-align: left;">But, I'm confident that Tom and Justin can figure out whats up.</div><div style="text-align: left;">yes, I am confident..</div></div>Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-49388164915922979112010-04-01T12:29:00.008-04:002010-04-01T17:14:11.044-04:00one of many: A Race Day Adventure<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Last Saturday started of much earlier than any of us are used to. Tom was going to run is first trail race and it was about an hour away in the Uwharrie National Forest.</div><div style="text-align: center;">We got up a little before 6 and were ready to leave at 7.</div><div style="text-align: center;">A quick swing by starbucks and we were ready to be on our way.</div><div style="text-align: center;">The first hour of the trip was uneventful, Hayley and Jonas slept and Tom and I talked. Then we made a turn, that was in the directions, that we never should have taken. The race was to start at 9, so we still had time and so we stopped and asked for directions. The wom</div><div style="text-align: center;">en who gave us directions sent us to a neighborhood with the same name as the trail that the race was on. This neighborhood was in the opposite direction. Fun. So we turn around and I type into the trusty GPS the name of the road that we were supposed to turn on, the nonexistent Tower Rd. It took us down this dirt road that would have b</div><div style="text-align: center;">een much more suited for one of our 4 wheel drive jeeps, and not th</div><div style="text-align: center;">e buick century we were in. We get closer and closer to race time, and seemingly further and further into the wilderness, yet we have NO idea where the race actually is. We found a church with some men doing some lands</div><div style="text-align: center;">caping and asked them if they had any idea where the race was. They gave us simple directions and in 5 minutes we were there. We got there at 9am on the dot. There are still people walking around with their numbers pinned to them talking leisurely. I had prayed then entire time that maybe the start would be delayed and it indeed was. There was an accident </div><div style="text-align: center;">on the way to the race from Raleigh, that was holding up about 10 racers. We are fairly certain they were waiting on the team from Duke (ew) to get there. I felt a little bad that</div><div style="text-align: center;"> I had prayed for a dela</div><div style="text-align: center;">y and there had been an accident though. Trail racing is much more laid back than road racing thankfully so them delaying the race 15 minutes is not a big to any of the runners. I was a little worried for Tom, he didn't really have time to eat his pre race waf</div><div style="text-align: center;">fles, or drink his cliff drink, plus he was getting over a cold. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Tom was an instant celebrity at the race because of his shoes. Honestly we thought there would be more people in the <a href="http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/products_kso_trek_m.cfm">vibrams</a>, but he was the only one, go figure.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jonas was very upset that he could not run the race with daddy.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUjONOtIC1tybhFBIt0YRNLojFUGcD92Z69XhrYyugbu8Xi4t4bykpdms8pFiqYVFlXtaHcS-ADT-U_GPMiWNHR6YA7gOazwYWjkFaQtsjJRJ8rDOSpZCBHGAPgpaYsqNmywWqwrLNaAE/s400/DSC_0221.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455211726815445234" /><div style="text-align: center;">He had run the 2 races with Tom, But this race did not have a fun run for him to participate in.</div><div style="text-align: center;">He did eventually let Tom go so he could join the starting line.</div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiQQjVrT5VhMjEjJmepGsZeAGqOfmaqEd7ionN3Q0iDHrphpvVwR2eBM2AdoNefnFg0VeRg75QJiNcZZkbTXKLJ_flXdQN5p-kE9f1xfnoUHWuFYSUXAAFNWUP6bnKkZUIqWkPLkyZAD4/s400/DSC_0231.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455212477954119842" /><div style="text-align: center;">I knew we would have at least an hour before he would cross the finish line, so the kids and i trekked back to the car. I got them a snack and they watched part of a movie. We head back to the 'camp site' since I wanted to see more than just Tom finish. The kids played around till the runners started to come in. Jonas wanted to go into the forest to look for lions and tigers. I told him that lions and tigers did not live in the forest. He assured me there were mountain lions and that we needed to find them. We didn't find any.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcDLieF7zZXJYr8ks9MZGY0bEOBTvxuE-tmhyibyCyXv7F3EX3qEf4KVnyPPwwVDJuGMFxwxaMbORxvSMKXbAGpqj8-xMqqpx4umaJWOhxFZbJpVClVr0qbix5vHpbfZED4N7dq9Nbv7E/s400/DSC_0244.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455264406586733170" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px; " /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjYfua3kagZi7igefLZB3fvC0UF2UBpMcGEbwdwcsXYl226zlZlXf_euqvagAO8OvnKeoAFICBhbSDLTS44x_OYb-iDovo_dHV_IvL6GSMQd_293t3UELzpZT_UIHFsNPZPVvinJUIyQM/s400/DSC_0258.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455264404568018834" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px; " /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi41gLdctarSC8t9sxS3X-0bBAmB7hdFqY0KHXlHHhHhmX74yNkdmgNv9vZkel2X2wG8UiSAmvUlJ989wgqdQQQIc6FAXJoGaeCzkAgLpTKqcKdhyphenhyphenmhoqsS_OE-9fsqEA26151CbjR8g18/s400/DSC_0255.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455264395479780722" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px; " /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Tom Finished <a href="http://bigfootrunning.com/results/race/1365/1740">11th overall</a>. That seems pretty par for the course. If they had done the age groups in 5 year increments, like most races, instead of 10 he would have been 2nd in his group. The Duke Road Runners swept the 19-29 year group. Jonas even got a medal! He and Hayley were the only kids there, and when the director saw Jonas was so upset that he didn't get to run, at the end of the race he gave Jonas one of the leftover medals. Wednesday, (after the snow tuesday night) Jonas and I both had a doctors appointment. I love that our doctor has no problem doing 1 appointment for 2 people, it really makes things easier.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Jonas and I both have ear infections and sinus infections, and Jonas (of course) had bronchitis again. He had been acting fine till wednesday, when his fever spiked to 104.6. I don't think he has ever had a fever that high. Tom stayed up with him all night, and took his temp every half hour and marked it on a piece of paper to make sure it kept going down with just tylenol. Thankfully, it did. Thursday Jonas pretty much just slept all day. He has to take a ton of medicine though</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB5me2s4BIvkARHT5bLA4xSqVQyO1vDilrBCpXDSozyCYjyWLXFBD6jEKq4_UTqGVWnNlXSq1_fY_TKR3ChIX889PYwfCC52gkByxRUgcr-UBpOdgVY5RPc9AWgvBbInlAi89_gZyS524/s400/DSC_0796.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446446264093313842" /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div>all that 2-4 times day. Thank God for insurance. We do have to pay a CoPays since we don't get our prescriptions filled on base. I'm pretty mad that my CoPay for my nose spray was 22 dollars (everything else was 3) and it can take 'up to' 2 weeks to work. She gave it to me to unstuff my ears, the congestion was (well is still) backed that far up. I still can't hear out of my right ear very well. Tom, the doc he saw never did tell him what he had, but they gave him some meds, and he thankfully is now mostly better as well Hayley, thank you Lord is still healthy!</div><div>Speaking of Hayley, she is having some teeth problems. More like a tooth problem really. One tooth is bad, and last night I noticed it was broken. I'm not sure what is going on. She brushes her teeth, drinks nursery water, we don't give her juice at bedtime and she rarely eats sugary stuff. What really baffles me, is it's just the one tooth. I've started using my toothpaste on her, very little of course. I don't think the training toothpaste really does anything. I've also stopped giving her juice. I don't want her other little teeth to get messed up.</div><div>We are tying to get a referral for her to get seen by a dentist. Our dental insurance doesn't cover her till she is 4 but they will make exceptions if needed. We just have to tell them what is going on and I guess they will send her to the dentist that we choose. I'm going to have to make some phone calls to see if the ones that take our insurance will even see kids under 2.</div><div>Her broken tooth doesn't seem to be bothering her at all though. She is eating normally. I'm just afraid that the problem will spread to the root or something. I know it just a baby tooth, but i don't know how it will affect her adult teeth.</div><div>Prayers for her little teefies please!</div><div>also</div><div>Prayers for Tom.</div><div>He test in 11 days! I thought he had one more month! It would be so great if he could make it first try!</div>Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-49246617095667971562010-03-01T10:13:00.000-05:002010-03-01T11:29:43.987-05:00everybody's doing it!weekly meal planning!<div><b>Sunday</b>: (yes i start on sunday. not monday)</div><div>It was supposed to be chicken and fried rice, but that seemed like too much work in my state so i made enchiladas instead</div><div><b>Monday:</b></div><div>welcome to moes!</div><div><b>Tuesday:</b></div><div>brinner, french toast, eggs, and bacon</div><div><b>Wednesday:</b></div><div>chicken and fried rice</div><div><b>Thursday:</b></div><div>twice baked potatoes with cheese and broccoli</div><div><b>Friday:</b></div><div>we did pizza and movie a week early, so maybe panera bread, i'm not seeing many leftovers being around.</div><div><br /></div><div>the check out lady at harris teeter was very interested in the notebook carry with me every week.</div><div>it isn't a special notebook, just a spiral bound jonas brothers notebook.</div><div>it's jonas brothers because, jonas is convinced that they are his personal brothers and insist on buying things with their image on them. (thankfully so far its a lunch box, 2 notebooks, some pens and pencils he found at big lots and his yearly christmas ornament)</div><div>anyway, back to my notebook.</div><div>i love grocery shopping</div><div>i love coupon clipping</div><div>and i love list making.</div><div>so take a guess at what this notebook is for.</div><div>every friday night, i sit on the couch with this notebook, all my coupons and my mac with my coupons sites, the harris teeter sale ad, and various recipe site open.</div><div>i make a list of meals on the front of the paper on the back i again write out each meal, but i then write the items i need for each meal. i then make a 'general list' of things we regularly buy plus maybe a splurge, (like if ice cream is or pop is b1g1)</div><div>if i have a coupon for an item i mark it, if the coupon can be doubled i mark that too. and if the item is going to be free, well it gets a star!</div><div>i don't stick to brands on many things. bread frequently changes do to sales, my only stipulation is that the first ingredient is not 'bleached flour' which oddly is in many 'wheat' breads. salsa also changes with the sales. we only buy raw sugar, but again the brand changes. and our coffee..well we are coffee junkies so we are really picky about what we get, coffee is one thing i will splurge on (within reason of course!) some coffees are just better than others. we love caribou coffee, but right now we have dunkin donuts. why, caribou coffee was 11 dollars a pound, and dunkin donuts (with my coupon) was 5.</div><div>for the past 5 years, i have had an average savings of 60 dollars at each trip to the grocery store.</div><div>i tote my coupons everywhere</div><div>i even took them to disney with us. they cut our denny's bill in half, and the coupon mark found for the sizzler made our breakfast buffet less than 3 bucks a person.</div><div>i frequently spend less than 2 dollars, on 20 or more dollars of grocery's.</div><div>it always stuns the cashier and the person behind me in line or next to me at self check out. </div><div>now i didn't explain all this to the check out lady, i just told her it was the weekly meal list with the grocery and coupons to match. she just nodded and said "smart" when she was done ringing up my coupons and saw that my bill cut in half, she was more impressed.</div><div>i dont think i could do this with out my notebook. (i used to do it on the computer and print it off, oddly it was a little more difficult)</div><div>it keeps me organized and its the only thing i am good at organizing.</div><div>i am very good at saving my family money (especially through grocery shopping), i am proud of that.</div><div>i'm a stay at home mom, who stinks at cleaning! i'm good with the laundry, but everything else i'm pretty terrible at.</div><div>money is the one thing i am good with (yes mom and dad, it's my money now so i'm great with it!) so i manage it the best i can to make up for my lack in ability at that other thing... :(</div><div>tom is the opposite, he is great at the cleaning, but not so great with the money. he is not irresponsible by any means, but he always has to ask 'hey, do we have money for...' or 'oh no! did we pay...?!' </div><div>its just not his thing.</div><div>but it is my thing.</div><div>i'm glad i can contribute in some way! haha</div>Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-17530324472781856242010-03-01T09:42:00.000-05:002010-03-01T10:12:28.451-05:00family updatesick<div>this word describes 3 of the 4 people in our house hold.</div><div>hayley God bless her, is the only one that's not sick. she doesn't even have a runny nose. and i pray every night it stays that way</div><div>jonas is getting over his monthly bought of bronchitis. im thinking of asking our doctor to prescribe him an inhaler or a nebulizer to take home since this is a monthly thing and not just an occasional illness.</div><div>tom came home thursday with a fever. he was nauseous achey and all that great stuff. he spent most of friday in bed. we swapped off taking naps because...</div><div>last wednesday i started feeling crummy. i chalked it up to sinus drainage. thursday i was felling worse, but again i thought it was just my sinuses. plus being an adult, and a mommy, taking a break and resting, really isn't too much of an option, so i thought i was just not getting the needed rest to feel better.</div><div>friday i took jo to school while tom slept (tom sleeping till 8 is sleeping in 2 1/2 hours!). being the great wife that i am, i stopped by starbucks to get him some chai. when the time came i picked jonas up, took him to lunch and to petsmart and walmart, giving tom two more hours to sleep. when i came home i made him get up so i could crash haha.</div><div>saturday was more running around unfortunately. you see, saturdays are our running day. we start off with breakfast at starbucks, (i am proud to say, jonas noticed they had fruit salad and ask if he and hayley could share one! so they each had that and part of a donut). after starbucks we do other various errands and end with grocery shopping. it was a fairly busy day.</div><div>sunday morning started off busy and by around noon i was really feeling awful. my ear wouldn't pop. i told tom i hadn't been in such pain since hayley was born!</div><div>yes it was that bad.</div><div>today is monday, and i'm still felling bad. my loving husband stayed home today to help with the kids so i can get the rest i need. (right now he is playing. madden, his skins are having a terrible 4th season) my ear is still stuffy but thankfully doesn't hurt. tom woke me up this morning with suddafed, aleve and orange juice.</div><div>hayley is not taking her morning nap</div><div>maybe is has something to do with the fact that she bogarted my iced vanilla latte tom brought me home (i'm so lucky! yesterday it was chocolate covered banana chips and today it was starbucks!)</div><div><br so special updatehayley was sick yesterday<div>like very sick</div><div>thankfully i had some disposable diapers and wipes on hand or i would have been washing diapers all day.</div><div>she's much better day thankfully.</div><div><br /></div><div>tom stayed home today to help out. i'm thankful that tom has a job, where he can not only take off when he needs to, but taking off does not affect his paycheck at all.</div><div>i wanted hayley to be able to rest all day, which wouldn't have been possible if tom didn't stay home. he took jonas to school and picked him up. then he watched the kids while i ran the few errands i had planned for the day.</div><div>harris teeter is running super double coupons.</div><div>i was able to stock up on salsa, juice, cat/dog treats, yogurt, cereal, starbucks bottle fraps, and school snacks for jonas.</div><div>i spent around 8 buckish..i cant get to the receipt right now.</div><div>i got raisin bran crunch for 34 cents. jonas' school snacks were all free, as were the cat treats, my fraps were 69 cents.</div><div>they only let you use 20 coupons at a time so i will use more when i do weekly shopping saturday, and hit it up one more time before tuesday.</div><div><br /></div><div>we got our new washing machine last saturday. i love it! i no longer have to shop vac out a drip pan every 2 loads! it's sooo much nicer and worth the money that was spent.</div><div><br /></div><div>colt is doing great. he has come out of his shell so much the past 3 weeks. he is still very skittish around other dogs (even little dogs) and people. he's good with kids from the start and he gets ok with adults after they pet him. puppy training courses at petsmart are in the near future. he's smart, he's learning all the commands we are teaching him, but he needs to work on his anxiety issues.</div><div><br /></div><div>so far, weekly grocery shopping is much easier than bi monthly. staying in town to do the shopping is nice. we are staying right on budget if not way under. i've also started paying for groceries with cash and saving all our dollar bills and change. we've been doing that for years, but when you mainly use debit cards there isn't much change.</div><div><br /></div><div>i've been trying to sneak little ways of saving money into our lives, like withdrawing an extra 20 with the grocery money and putting it in the kids bank. and when i transfer jonas' school tuition and our rent into its account, i've been adding an extra 25. not sure what the money will be used for.</div><div>last year we used all the extra cash for christmas so thats probably what will happen this year too.</div><div><br /></div><div>not much else to report</div><div>the kids are sleeping and tom and i are watching the olympics.</div><div>men's halfpipe finals coming up</div><div>then 500m short track and 1500m relay in speed skating</div><div>i think shaun white could play tommy in a 'tommy' remake ('tommy' being the who rock opera for those who don't know)</div><div>lets go ohno!</div><div>and white!</div><div>and vito!</div><div>and bretz!</div><div>and lago!</div><div>davis already pulled gold for us in 1000m speed the day off so he stayed with hayley while i took jonas to school, and while i went to a parents meeting. nothing really interesting to report there haha. jo and i headed to walmart to pick up a few 'supplies' before they were all gone, we had afternoon plans so i wasn't going to go grocery shopping till that evening, and i was sure, milk and bread would be gone by then, cuz you know, the sky was going to fall that night. after picking him up a happy meal we came home and left to go to an animal shelter, where we got..<br />COLT!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} still hasn't ventured past the dinning room table<br />he's a sweetie, good with the kids, playful, (once he is outside), and hasn't messed with the cats, who thankfully couldn't careless that he is here<br />friday night of course, you would have thought the world was coming to an end<br />tom went to a local high school to hear a lecture from, chris mcdougall, barefoot running activist.<br />tom got to met him and got his copy of "Born to Run" signed.<br />yes tom does run "barefoot", barefoot in quote because he does wear <a href="http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/products_footwear.cfm">these</a> and has for about a year.<br />seriously, they are the most comfortable shoes ever. i don't like shoes, (ok i lie i LOVE shoes as a fashion accessory), i don't wear shoes in the house, and weather permitting, i tend to wear flops. my feet never feel right in shoes. anyways..<br />Saturday aka, the day the earth stood still<br />really folks, its just snow<br />i grew up in the midwest and lived in iceland, this is nothing. i understand that people here 'aren't used to it' and can't drive it it. but no one can drive on ice without chains or snow tires or spikes. so just stay home and off the roads. we don't need dummies that "aren't used to" snow driving in it and causing accidents, of which we had plenty.<br />jonas had a blast in the snow. hayley, i'm sure she remembered her faceplant in ohio and wouldn't walk in it or leave the sidewalk. colt loved it<a onblur="try whoas..this year we are going to try weekly grocery shopping in town<br />instead of every 2 weeks at the base<br />we are starting this weekend<br />we didn't start on the first because we were given a 50 dollar DeCA gift check that could only be used at the commissary<br />i'm kinda torn on this method<br />the commissary is on average 30% cheaper than other grocery stores<br />but their prices change so sporadically, its harder to stay on a price budget<br />ex: hillshire farm lunch meat will be 1.99 for 3 paydays then jump to 2.35 and then to 2.65. which is still cheaper than most places<br />V8 splash will be 1.50 and then all of a sudden be 2.70<br />walmart and harris teeter's are generally consistent with the exceptions of sale prices<br />V8 splash is always 1.78 at our walmart<br />i really enjoy the savings of the commissary<br />but i don't enjoy the prices changes or the people that shop there<br />when we lived in GA we lived right across the street from the commissary<br />i could get jonas up at 8 30 be there by 9 30 and be leaving the parking lot before it got crazy inside<br />bragg is a whole lot bigger than moody and its a 3o minute drive from us<br />no matter what time you get there its pretty nuts, and pay day weekends (when we go) are the worst.<br />childless people complain (loudly) about children (even the well behaved ones!), people with kids (not all just most of them) don't pay attention to what they are doing. thus resulting in the last time we were there 4 teenage boys running around pushing each other in a cart meant to hold two, 5-8 year olds.<br />most of the adults are just as bad, pushing, shoving, blocking the aisles and then looking at you blankly when you or someone else would like to get through...<br />it take about 3 hours to get there, do our shopping, stand in line, check out, and go home<br />and if we want to go to the BX or the mall in town, it just take longer.<br />im not sure if my sanity is worth the savings.<br />if i keep shopping there, tom can maybe us the money left over to foot my therapy bill.<br />but shopping after the commissary i cringe when i go to harris teeter and see the price of somethings<br />3.50 for hillshire farm lunch meat and thats when it is on sale! even with double coupons, the commissary is less expensive even on their high price days.<br />i don't know,<br />i just got back from walmart where i did a little price scouting<br />i use a lot of coupons when i shop<br />i mean a lot, like at least 20 dollars worth<br />the prices at walmart aren't bad, and you can catch really good deals at harris teeter with double and sometimes triple coupons.<br />i spent 3 bucks on 20 dollars worth of groceries the other day and a few times i've spent under a dollar on 20 dollars worth of groceries.<br />anyway<br />tom will be home tomorrow!<br />so that will be nice to get things back to normal<br />kinda..friday he as off, monday is a day off<br />maybe next week we can get back on a normal schedule haha<br />tom hasn't been to actual work (he is at work now just TDY) in 4 weeks now<br />its been nice having him home for awhile<br />and now a short rant<br />jonas' preschool has pretty simple rules for dropping off and picking up the kids<br />simple<br />now things can hinder the process. its is also technically a 2 way alley, and the church has people that come and go. people try and do their best not to block and cause 'trouble' but it does happen<br />now what is not understandable is idiot parents<br />or one idiot father<br />by now the teachers of learned the cars of that belong to the parents of each kid and when you turn the first corner when the teachers see your car they call you child over and get their stuff. when you get the gate, your kid is ready to get in the car! everything moves quickly<br />but this guy, parks in the church parking lot, walks over the gate, in front of the cars to get his kids.<br />he's done it 3 times that i've seen<br />to get him out of the way of the cars, the teachers have to now get his kids ready to go out the gate. this makes all the other kids who are were already to go wait longer in line and the parents waiting in the car line wait longer.<br />he looks incredible arrogant.<br />it is always dressed in a suit and long coat, carrying a venti starbucks drink, wearing dark sunglasses ,and always has a smirk on his face.<br />i don't know why he doesn't just follow the rules like the rest of the parents, maybe he is afraid of his car getting hurt. i know that the teachers have said something to him too.<br />this is getting pretty long<br />i make a lot of stuff we use around the house (besides meals)<br />i make the kids halloween costumes<br />cleaning products<br />diaper wipes and diaper wipe solution<br />i just recently made my own olive oil sugar scrub<br />my only complaint... maybe next time ill just used refined white sugar<br />raw sugar works but it is a bit rougher<br />i used raw because that's what he had in the house<br />other than than it works really great<br />and it only cost like a dollar to make!Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-61847427645817522702010-01-05T21:58:00.001-05:002010-01-05T22:39:03.765-05:00ohio was great<br />but it is nice to be home<br />new years was the quietest i think it has even been with my family<br />it was just us, the kids, my parents and my mamaw<br />usually we have at least 7 more people (though it used to be a lot more than that)<br />this year tom and jonas ran the beavercreek high school resolution run<br />tom did very well<br />we looked at the times from last year and knew there was no way he was going to place<br />tom is fast, but back to back to back 5 minute miles are not in him, not yet at least<br />but he was 4th in his age group and 32nd over all<br />the guys (and girls) that finished in the top 24 all had under 6 minute pace times<br />the guy that won, had a 4:55 pace<br />tom's was 6:25 and he was the only barefoot runner, as he usually is.<br />jonas ran the 6 and under 250 meter run<br />a lot shorter than his last half mile!<br />after all the festivities we came home, after a quick happy meal run for jonas, and we watched the big bang theory till about 11:45. then we watch dick clark's rockin new years eve.<br />wow, it kinda made me sad watching him, i had forgotten he had a stroke a few year back.<br /><br />it is down right freezing here<br />literally it is 28 degrees outside, brr<br />jonas and i made these tonight <a style="color: rgb(204, 102, 204);" href="http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/critters-that-keep-out-the-cold-671472/?CMP=NLC-NL_7LittleThings_01_04_critters-that-keep-out-the-cold-671472"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">critters that keep out the cold</span></a><br />only we made ours kitties and not snakes or puppies<br />they cost about 5 bucks to make, we made 4 and in the kitchen i can really tell a difference when i walk past the windows.<br /><br />the kids had a follow up appointment today<br />about 3 and a half weeks ago they both and colds<br />hayley also had an ear infection and had to do a breathing treatment<br />hayley's biggest problem is they don't make cold medication or decongestants for babies anymore. shoot, they don't make anything over the counter for kids under 6 anymore (though jonas still takes the same dimeatapp and triaminic he did when has since he was 2 even though the box says he "can't" no worries, his doc says its cool)<br />she wrote us a prescription for some new stuff that hayley (and jonas) can take, just to keep around the house<br />her colds get horrible, simply because there no way to dry up all the mucus in her sinuses and chest. and if you can't dry it up, that's what can turn a cold into pneumonia.<br />jonas' old doc put it like this 'its like a puddle or bucket of stagnant water, if you don't drain it, then all the mosquitoes come to lay eggs, and when the eggs hatch you have problems.'<br />hopefully we won't ever have to use the new stuff, but it is good to know that if she does get a cold, it doesn't have to drag out to, 2 weeks and we won't have to do another breathing treatment.<br /><br />i bought us a new printer and external hard drive tonight<br />thank you sear heroes at home program!<br />now i can print my coupons at home again!<br />our new printer is wireless which will be nice since all we have are laptops<br />sears says it will be here by the 19th but i'm hoping soonerJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-38263316753234548872009-12-29T22:46:00.001-05:002009-12-29T23:20:16.655-05:00i can't find our sd card reader and it has our sd card in it :(<br />oh well<br />Christmas is over, but the mess is still here<br />all the kids gifts are still under the tree since we really can't put at this time tom will be back!<br />he's been in florida since tuesday so he missed most of hayley's birthday.<br />he did get to wish her a happy birthday though, we went out to breakfast before he left.<br />we aren't doing anything big for her birthday till next saturday though when we will be in VA for thanksgiving.<br /><br />i've been looking over a lot of 'black friday' ads<br />christmas is going to have to be on a very tight budget<br />very tight<br />with us having to buy a new engine and compressor for my jeep and tow it back here<br />that leaves us with very little money for christmas shopping<br />tom and i will probably go giftless again this year<br />i don't think we have bought christmas gifts for each other in about 3 years<br />my birthday is 2 weeks from christmas, and i usually go giftless for that too<br />i'd rather save the money to get the kids gifts<br />thankfully we've been blessed once again by being accepted into the sears 'hero's at home' program for military families<br />we get a gift card to sears/kmart<br />they put money on it 3 times between Nov 24th and Jan 1st<br />last year we ended up with almost 300 dollars<br />they also gave us a special card with an extra 100 for decorations and gift wrap and such<br />im not sure how much we will get this year<br />frankly any little bit will help<br />we also saved up all our change from the year and that alone as given us a pretty good amount of money, if i can hit up good sales.<br />i've made each kid a list at toys r us<br />people had better follow them this year<br />i make a list every year but it hardly ever gets followed<br />jonas doesn't really need toys<br />but i still want him to have some gifts of course<br />what i guess i mean is he does not need toys with 'parts'<br />like lego play sets, tool kits, train tracks<br />pieces get lost and then the play set is pretty useless<br />certain members of the family are really bad about giving him gifts like that even though every year we ask them not to<br />last year one of these relatives gave him 50, yes 50 hot wheels cars, even after a phone call asking what he needed and what not to buy for him<br />he does not need anymore toys like that<br />books are good, movies are good, a few age appropriate few action figures maybe<br />and he really wants a bop it haha<br /><br />thanksgiving will be in VA this year<br />never done a thanksgiving in VA<br />since we have been married tom and i have had thanksgiving in St Augustine Fl twice, once at our 'friends' house, and twice on our own.<br />St Augustine thanksgiving will always be my favorite, with the exception of last year when hayley was with us for her first thanksgiving :)<br />jonas' first thanksgiving was in St Augustine<br />i love thanksgivings with lots of people.<br />im not sure how this thanksgiving is working since it's not at my house<br />tom's mom (God love her) is not the best cook, she will be the first to tell you that haha<br />but her sister is coming down.<br />i also like to be in charge in the kitchen, so this could be a problem<br />unless people have assigned tasks, like my side of the family has had for the 20 thanksgiving i remember, i like to take charge<br />i do know im making the pies<br />at least i am assuming as much, tom told his mom i was...<br />as for the rest of the meal i don't know whats going on for now<br />we are having a party for hayley on saturday<br />not really sure whats going on for that as of now either<br />i feel like i've dropped the ball on her birthday<br />again its not at my house so im not sure how they want to handle it<br />for jonas we just a big bbq<br />i really should be in bed right now<br />jonas has school in the morning<br />sarah palin will be on Ft Bragg on monday<br />trying to decide if i want to go<br />well i do want to go, really really bad<br />but rumor has it that her book signing starts at noon, jonas gets out of school at 11 20 and it is at least a 40 minute drive to that side of the base<br />blah it probably won't happenJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-79561868196265679722009-11-17T17:36:00.000-05:002009-11-17T17:58:51.448-05:00<a catch upBUSY last week<br />and i do mean busy<br /><br />last sunday, jonas, hayley, tom, mark, and i all set out for sunny orlando florida<br />it was thankfully an uneventful drive, stopping once for breakfast at a denny's and at the state borders for bathroom breaks.<br />both kids did well, they slept most of the morning part of the drive so that was helpful<br />we got in around 5ish, checked out the time-share we were staying in then went off in search for dinner. tom spotted the ever elusive 'crab house' and since we couldn't find it, we settled for a joe's crab shack.<br />after dinner we did a walmart run for breakfast foods and such then headed back to the house for sleep.<br /><br />Monday-Animal Kingdom<br />the park is nice, very shaded, the weather was great.<br />jonas tom and mark rode the african safari ride, hayley and i hung back<br />i wasn't aware she would be able to ride it, even though i had ridden it 5 years ago, i guess i remember it being a little rougher than it is.<br />but we walked on the 'hiking' trail and saw the monkey's and gorillas and hipppos<br />she seemed to enjoy that<br />after a mini meltdown from jonas at lunch time, mark and tom rode the everest rollercoaster, then all the boys rode the river rapids ride, then we watched the 3D bugs life movie<br />the park closed at 5 so after that it was time to head back to the car<br />an early evening was a good idea. tom went and got a new pair of sunglasses, and some pizza's for dinner and the kids conked out around 9.<br /><br />Tuesday-EPCOT<br />we took it easy in the morning<br />3.99 breakfast buffet at the sizzler. that was a pretty good choice, jonas had ice cream and pancakes for breakfast.<br />hayley took a nap on spaceship earth<br />mark got sick after ridding the mission space ride.<br />italy makes some nasty soda<br />and jonas did the kim possible secret agent game around the world showcase. ok well he only did it in france. it was pretty neat little deal though. you go to KP station in the world of tomorrow, and they give you a ticket to meet an 'agent' at a country in the world showcase. they give you a verizion cell phone and you follow the clues that wade calls into you.<br />hayley got to meet princess jasmine and snow white. we missed belle :( not that hayley cared, i did though. she is my favorite princess, followed by jasmine, arielle, princess aurora, snow white, and cinderella.<br /><br />Wednesday-Hollywood Studios<br />i was slightly disapointed by this day, we wanted to catch the night show at 9 so we got to the park around 2. only to learn that fantasmic was not playing that night and the park closed at 7.<br />it wasn't that big of a deal though. its a pretty small park so we got a lot done in the 5 hours we had there. the toy story midway mania ride/game was pretty freaking awesome. jonas was too short to ride the star wars ride though, so while tom and mark were doing that, we met mater and lightning mcqueen.<br />mark convinced tom to ride the tower of terror with him. and then i rode it with tom.<br />it was fun. im not the biggest fan of heights, but as tom put it 'you aren't up high for very long'<br />apparently during our ride (which was short) it started raining. so we ran over to the rockin roller coaster.<br />tom and mark rode, i opted not to since the park was almost closing and hayley was getting in one of her moods, knocking things of shelves, screaming, and all the sorts.<br />sleep was must since thursday was the big day.<br /><br />Thursday-Magic Kingdon<br />knowing that we had privilege of staying in the park till midnight, we slept as late as the kids would let us. this time getting to the park at 2 wasn't a big deal.<br />space mountain and big thunder mountain were both closed :( so that was a bummer<br />but we had lots of fun anyway<br />jonas 'hated' the haunted mansion and 'hated' pirates of the caribbean<br />at 6 o'clock we got the kids in their costumes, jonas was snake eyes from G.I. Joe, and hayley was a lady bug in a tutu. then we rode the rides in tomorrow land till 7 when trick or treat started!<br />the trick or treating was fun. they had handed out maps when you got your 'not so scary halloween party' wrist band that showed all the trick or treat spots. we hit all the spots in tomorrowland, toontown, and in between. jonas got a whole pumpkin full of candy.<br />we met mickey at his house, he was the only character tom and mark were willing to stand in line for. so much to my saddness he was the only one we met that day. the halloween party focused on the disney villains so you could meet honest john from pinnochio and the evil step sisters from cinderella, jafar, cruella but of course you could meet mickey, minnie, donald, goofy, daisy, and all the good guys too, all dressed in their halloween best!<br />i really enjoyed the paraded, and im 100% convinced that it was johnny depp on the pirates float. ok, it probably wasn't, but it seriously looked just like him.<br />we ended up leaving around 10 the kids barely made it off the monorail.<br /><br />Friday-Seaworld<br />we hit up the 3.99 buffet again! haha<br />tom was able to get free tickets to seaworld thanks to anheuser busch's heroes salute<br />i think we headed in around noonish? but its mainly a big aquarium so its easy to get everything in. tom and mark rode the manta while jonas, hayley, and i fed the sting rays. that was a weird experience. we played with the dolphins, jonas fed them again this time. they had he set up different than the last time when we were there. it was a lot better organized and a lot more fun this go. jonas won a 2 polar bears at one of the carnival games they have set up. he won a baby one for hayley, and a bigger one for him. tom one a little penguin in the same game. then jonas asked if he could bounce on the bungee trampoline they had set up. since the tickets where free, i didn't have problem paying the 8 bucks for it. hayley got her first pearl at the pearl diving place. she picked out her oyster and everything. im not sure how we will have it set for her, but we will have it done by her birthday. after a snack, and a pretty big jonas meltdown, we went into shamu stadium to see the shamu show 5. then jonas played in shamu's happy harbor till the park closed, i made him ride the shamu express, a kiddie coaster, he did not enjoy it, i laughed at him.<br />Saturday<br />me and mark were both sick. thus leaving tom with the 2 kids to entertain<br />i chalked mine up to food poisoning. but i've since changed my mind to stomach bug since tom picked it up sunday night/monday. it didn't help my tummy that tom and mark found the forementioned crab house and decided to do the all you can eat seafood buffet. i left and slept in the car.<br /><br />we left sunday around 6 and after stops, including on at south of the boarder for fireworks. we got home around 4. im not sure what time mark got back to VA, but i know how tired we were with out the extra 4 hours of driving. mark must have been beat.<br /><br />this week has been pretty quick.<br />tom was sick monday<br />jonas had his school halloween parade yesterday<br />and today/tonight tom has combat survivor training to teach till who know's what time friday morning. this means he does not have work friday, but we are leaving for VA (ugh) after we pick jonas up from school.<br />tom needs to give the jeep a one over, basically to make sure walmart did or didn't have anything to do with what happened. we are kinda hoping they did, maybe a wrong oil filter, or they put it on too tight so the oil couldn't get through enough.<br />then they can pay for a new engine.<br />ill post pictures of our trip as soon as i sort through all of them and figure out which ones i want to uploadJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-69510114739761062532009-10-04T19:58:00.000-04:002009-10-04T20:02:16.497-04:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkT_cSV8EfwVVuVe0a7gHuEJVG1wZphtPXxiydu0UB7J8g6WRdKFllS2H2WN0vPpbf12DViDYKKvpXVw1UFc1D4A0_8fSLmV799o4Bab6Er0Wl8aF_GOWKGFl3nKv9-iZs_3IKBdAEqzk/s1600-h/DSC_0017.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkT_cSV8EfwVVuVe0a7gHuEJVG1wZphtPXxiydu0UB7J8g6WRdKFllS2H2WN0vPpbf12DViDYKKvpXVw1UFc1D4A0_8fSLmV799o4Bab6Er0Wl8aF_GOWKGFl3nKv9-iZs_3IKBdAEqzk/s400/DSC_0017.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388899420017320658" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />our pumpkins this year :)Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-46544590559938616392009-10-02T15:09:00.000-04:002009-10-02T16:09:31.171-04:00what a week!<br />tom is finally home! he has been for a week now haha, and he has all of next week off too. as much as i love having him home, it has been a bit of an adjustment having him back. being able to cook actual meals again with out having 3 days worth of left overs has been nice.<br />he wasn't too messed up by the time difference, since he worked nights it kinda kept him on the same time schedule as us. and sleeping the entire flight back help out too. but since he was working nights he did have to get used to being awake when the sun was up.<br />we haven't really done much this week and i'm not sure what is in store for next week.<br /><br />jonas and hayley are of course loving having daddy back. hayley had to get used to tom. she still wont give him kisses, cuz he hasn't shaved since he's been home.<br /><br />hayley's lady bug costume is almost done<br />i'm going to make her wings tonight<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgFQMu2Q4c4mmHAoM31OIpczF6jkd5ROaKM0g7z-aPWfuGa8YUtH3kdzDU00TdpHN0-zbrQL5LoIZzatRAY_4gd7_fuW1H2YrSc14NMfDwsjjLzoVdDkPSL_4GVbBnmvEnbrUJLjg3F8s/s1600-h/DSCI1202.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 244px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgFQMu2Q4c4mmHAoM31OIpczF6jkd5ROaKM0g7z-aPWfuGa8YUtH3kdzDU00TdpHN0-zbrQL5LoIZzatRAY_4gd7_fuW1H2YrSc14NMfDwsjjLzoVdDkPSL_4GVbBnmvEnbrUJLjg3F8s/s320/DSCI1202.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388091034638933762" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP3Knxk21y_Y101JBHGvzmC8uE8CwUY5aQDYw_3G5vpse396MNHSJBdR8y4GfvEMs8BcsBjxlAz58LVscHA2hnUUW4aprVsnkCta5foIwSquTsCleR8_8KfwObPrvr4dGLHanznyTExq8/s1600-h/DSCI1198.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 199px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP3Knxk21y_Y101JBHGvzmC8uE8CwUY5aQDYw_3G5vpse396MNHSJBdR8y4GfvEMs8BcsBjxlAz58LVscHA2hnUUW4aprVsnkCta5foIwSquTsCleR8_8KfwObPrvr4dGLHanznyTExq8/s320/DSCI1198.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388091042541843874" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />not really sure what's going on with the camera flash<br />but you get the idea<br />she really likes it so i'm going to get some pink, white, and purple tulle and make her another one. she keeps trying to take it out of the bag and put it on her head.<br /><br />i don't think either tom's or my football teams are on tv tomorrow<br />which is odd cuz va tech is playing duke<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd7g0mn8f-gzc5tVeS1uMzPcgX14i88OO71c6Q4fLgVicNtW__Qfh5pvaiJdXsz7WmrKhgb5_hylmLlEqsCI0OGvPwOjn1jyLY6Tu3iOVnBuSIXgPpc5_Agmd8etAxtxHuwUvCclHdXOQ/s1600-h/DSCI1208.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd7g0mn8f-gzc5tVeS1uMzPcgX14i88OO71c6Q4fLgVicNtW__Qfh5pvaiJdXsz7WmrKhgb5_hylmLlEqsCI0OGvPwOjn1jyLY6Tu3iOVnBuSIXgPpc5_Agmd8etAxtxHuwUvCclHdXOQ/s320/DSCI1208.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388095458806159298" border="0" /></a><br />this is our mojo<br />beemer the hokie<br />brutis the buckey<br />and pi pumpkin cat holding an art monk card<br />i need a browns bulldog<br />cuz that'll help<br />haha<br />rightJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7875135844373563252.post-61744585551929950882009-09-22T21:48:00.000-04:002009-09-22T23:08:12.903-04:00like a kid waiting for christmas<br />every time I look at the clock I get a little jolt in my stomach<br />one more hour closer to when tom will be home.<br />then things will finally be back to normal<br /><br />minus my jeep of course :(<br /><br />I don't know why<br />but the only reason I am still awake is I really want to see the new harris teeter ad in my inbox<br />I have some catch up grocery shopping to do<br />for Tom, coffee, cream, sugar..haha<br />I don't usually drink coffee with out tom, so the house has been scarce of it for 4 months<br />maybe get a few more sandwich things<br /><br />I still don't know what to cook for Tom's first meal home<br />Jonas wants pizza and fried chicken<br />And I'm sure Tom will be ok with one of those, it's not chow hall food or fast food<br />Well, I guess domino's or KFC would be fast food ;)<br />Maybe we will go out<br /><br />Jonas has all of next week off from school<br />Not sure what we will do<br />I don't want to push Tom with a ton of family stuff<br />I know he will be tired and we are going to disney in less with a month<br />But I know Jonas will want to do all sorts of stuff with him and Tom will do anything Jonas asks him to do, so we will just wait and see how things play out.Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04190665950752761567noreply@blogger.com0
